Ca Dmv
Robbed By DMV

My tags expired in April. I never paid to get new ones and didnt file non-op status. I got penalized. All this is gravy.in February (not even a full year late), I received a letter from the IRS saying they were garnishing my wages. Still OK by me. April rolled around and I noticed the wages garnished from my paycheck. I went to AAA to pay my NEW registration fees and they said that i owed from the past year (the garnished amount). They said I couldnt pay my new fees or get tags for my car and that id have to go to the DMV. I called the DMV to see if my payment was posted with them and was told it takes 45 days to clear.

Wait... 45 days? And I cant pay my new fees and get my tags despite me being completely willing to pay? I just got a 60 dollar smog check too. And I cant register my car! They took 275 dollars of mine and I dont get what I am entitled to? How is that not robbery? Fraud? And my best guess is that I am going to get a late fee on my current registration as it is due this month. But remember, I cant pay it because they wont let me. So I am being EVEN FURTHER penalized for the DMV's systems not updating fast enough? Why am I paying for that?
MAN! This is just BS. For 275 dollars, i could buy quite a bit of stock and turn a pretty profit while their "system updates". Not to mention the "late charge" I am going to get because the DMV wont let me pay my registration despite having money and all the necessary paperwork.

Fortunately, I have another car I can drive but if i didnt? Id get pulled over by a cop and have to deal with more fines and wasted time.

Im sure you've heard about government service but this truly takes the cake. They didnt rush to garnish my wages. Their systems found a way to get that done pretty quick. But entitle me to what i should receive after taking my hard-earned money for pete-sake.
