Are you currently an employee of TDCJ? Are you a former employee of TDCJ? Have you ever worked overtime for TDCJ?
If you answer any of these questions yes, then you may need to contact the Department of Labor (DOL), Elaine Chao Secretary of Labor to be sure you are included in the law suit against TDCJ, Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
It is my understanding that this is the 3rd time the stupid State of Texas is being sued for this. Not paying the overtime the employees earn.
They have this dumbass policy that if you earn overtime (by the way it's time and a half) they will credit you with only the time portion and not the half. Let's say you work 8 hours overtime, you will not be credited with 12 hours on the books, but only eight. The State wonders about the schooling here, well, it appears to me, they can't do simply math either.
Another stupid policy of theirs is you don't get your overtime until you separated from the state. Aren't you supposed to get it in the next pay period, duh. It is no wonder why this state is so screwed up, they need to get rid of all the creeps managing it, but why complain, it won't ever happen, right?
In the mean time, as I said in the beginning, if you are or were a TDCJ employee you may want to contact who I mentioned to make sure your name is on the list to get what you deserve, and so the stupid state of texas gets what it deserves too!
