Yellow Pages
Illegal and unethical

I had been a customer of Yellow Pages for several years in good standing. I have a small business in my home and many of my inquiries came through the Yellow Pages.in Nov. / Dec. I recieved a yearly call from a representative to renew my ad. He assured me that there would be no problem changing the phone number but leaving the address the same. Each time he sent the completed form, the phone # was wrong and I would call him back to correct it. Three times he assured me that it was "corrected in the system". He said he would change it in his computer etc. And that it would be fine. I have those calls documented. It was important to pay the fee up front by Dec. 31 to get a small discount. I did this. The phone book came out in 2010 and was wrong. There are two listings with the wrong phone number and one listing with the right phone number (which actually was my billing address) but listed under my personal name and not the Business name. After repeated phone calls, I was literally looking at my phone book and identifying the wrong information while talking with the representative. He insisted it was right (looking at his computer). After insisting he find the actual Michigan yellow book sample in his Iowa office, It was discovered that in his book, I am told, it is accurate. I faxed him the actual pages of my Michigan book and there was proof that it was different from his. He said they would "credit" my account. I had made it very clear that I wanted my money back. They would send me the credit statement in 2 months which never came. They have since refused to refund my money of $228. They refuse to allow me to talk to anyone in their legal department. They have said on June 3 that the origianal investigator, Jeremy Hunt, will return a call to me and re-investigate. I have not heard from him yet. I have had 0 calls in 2010 for my business due to the wrong phone number in the Yellow Pages book. Obviously, something is wrong in their system and they are refusing to refund my money. They have ruined my business, and they say I can use this credit with them in the future. Ha! Why would I do business with someone who ruined my business?
