I was searching Craig's list to buy an expensive, hard to find puppy. Contacted a company that is in Ohio (supposedly). They told us the puppy was at the travel center (Delta Pet Travel Services) ready to send. Our first red flag was that they were sending us the wrong puppy and in less than 10 minutes the "other" puppy was at the pet travel company, ready to ship.
The second red flag was how inexpensive the puppy was (300.00) and this included air travel to our door.
The third red flag was aggressive they were to get us to wire money via Western Union. Thank goodness Western Union made an error and the money was not sent! They called us at 4 in the A.M., then sent about 20 e-mails telling us we had to hurry and get the money to Western Union.
Fourth red flag was that they couldn't give us a valid company/personal phone number or address, and their website looks cheesy.
Fifth red flag is that we wanted a confirmation that we would receive the puppy. They evaded this and would not give us any sort of information, including vet records, when the puppy would arrive and any info. We would need for this specific dog.
Thank you for this website exposing this false company before we lost $300!!!
Finally, we reverted back to the original good advice: If it's too good to be true...
