I googled ChexSystems and clicked onto the first site that popped up. After dialing the number and trying to explain my situation and asking what I could do to remove my information from ChexSystems after my bankruptcy, the person on the other side of the phone immediately harped in and started telling me rudely that ChexSystems was completely different from Bankruptcy. Although I already knew this, I let him speak and cut me off. Then he said it stays on my file for 7 to 10 years or 189. So, I asked him what 189 was? He then told me I could pay $189.00 to ChexSystems and have it purged from my file and could take the letter I would receive in one week to the bank and open my checking account. So, thinking this was ChexSystems, I agreed to pay the $189.00 over the telephone. Strangely, a day later, I received an email from a Lauren Johnson telling me to sign the attached receipt of payment for ChexServices. Once I received my Consumer Report in the mail, I would have to fax that back to them too. It seemed really strange to do that. There was nothing that needed to be signed, they just wanted a faxed copy of my Consumer Report from ChexSystems. I thought they were ChexSystems. So, I called and that's when I got crazy Thomas on the phone. I was told to shut up and do what he said. He told me I was ruining his day and that there were more important things like Hurricane Sandy aftermath in Orlando. Each time I even tried to ask any questions, he would raise his tone and speak over me. He was like a possessed drug addict on a rant. He then proceeded to call me an *hole and told me to never contact them again. Not even knowing my name or anything. He hung up on me. I ended up contacting my bank and creating a new account and reported fraud. It's obviously a scam and I hope someone reads this and does not have to go through what I did. Here's a copy of the letter from this Lauren person wanting me to fax over all this junk for nothing...

We have ordered a copy of your consumer debit report whichwill be delivered to your mailing address on file within 5-7 business days. Once the process is complete in a 30-90 day time frame, you will receive a second letter known as your deletion letter which would be confirmation that the negative information once found in ChexSystems has been removed. Please note that it not our responsibility to make sure you have sent in all of the documentation as requested. If you fail to send in the requested documents, your account will be placed on hold and only re initiated once we have received both documents.
