I was contacted this morning from a Financial PPI Claims company, supposedly at 176 Bell Green Street, Covenrty CV67 GX telling me I had won £4850.00 0n a PPI claim from a loan in 2004 from Barclays Bank. I was told to go to the above address and pay 550.00 via western union to release the funds. I had to fill in a form with my name, address and phone number on it and then send it to a Tony Brook in India. Then ring 02476980797 and confirm to a Paul Wilson that the transaction was complete. I was given a reciept from the shop keeper so all looked in order. I was informed that the money was being transfered into my account which I gave the details of ie account number and sort code. I was told by Mr Wilson that I would be contacted and texed to say the money was in my account in 20mins. I got the call back to say that the money had been transfered but in two stages one for the £4850 and another for £1500 totalling £6350.00, but that I needed to unlock this by handing over £1500.00 at the costcutter shop again. This I refused obviously now knowing I was part of a scam.
