Brookline Management Clinton Twp. Garfield Commons ripoff

MY boyfriend and I applied to this complex on september 20 he was he lease holder and I was an occupant. We were told that if he was not accepted that we would get the deposit back within 30 days (not 30 business days).

He was declined for having no credit which I have been told is just as good as have good credit. We inquired about the deposit and was told it would be sent back to us in a check. If we didnt get accepted why did they deposit the check 7 days after we were not accepted???
We have found a new and much better place to move to now and are looking for that check to help us out with bills. A $ 100.00 might now seem much to someone but to us it is it will pay 2 of our bills. I called them today to see where the check was I was told by Maria that "it has taken along time hasnt it?" and that she would call and find out whats going on and call me back, end of work day is hear and no call back hmmmmm

I call them after speaking to a really rude lady was told that I could not inquire about the deposit coming back because I was not the leaseholder just a occupant. I told her I wrote the check the check came out of my account and I wanted my money back. She said she could only talk to him because he would have been the leaseholder, ok again the check was mine now its 30 business days to get it back which was not told to us in the first place. I believe that if the money came out of my account and the check was from my account I should be able to get my money back or inquire about my money. What if i had a maintenance probelm there I could inquire about it cause I was an occupant not the leaseholder. They knew on the same day within hours of applying that he didnt get accepted why did they cash the check 7 days later?

And to top it all off the refunded check is going to come back in his name not mine and I am the person who wrote the check!!!

Dont ever rent from these people... I see what others are saying brookline management are ripoffs. They were so nice until they didnt accept us now they treat us horrible.
