My daughter thought she was contacting McAfee after finding a phone number on google. Unfortunately it was Guruaid masquerading as a legitimate company. They took remote control of her laptop and told her there was a virus and asked for subscription or one off payment to fix it after telling her that they would fix it for free. She declined their pushy salesman. After she noticed that her internet explorer and her microsoft word had been deleted including her written work and the novel she had nearly completed. She is devastated after losing all her work and wants to warn people away from Guruaid.
