I answered an add regarding employment on Craigslist regarding a position for telecom tech needed on Sunday, Sept 26. I was contacted that day and was told to report on site the next day Sept 27, and was told if I worked out I would secure a full time position. When I arrived on site I discussed my hourly wage I was to be paid, travel and mileage. He also he had not set up his direct deposit account as of yet and I would be paid either cash or 1099. Pay date was to be Friday Oct 5 and was being kept as a full time employee. I worked 55 hrs at $18 per hr and traveled to Baton Rouge (710 miles total) that week. I was asked to work a ticket on Monday Oct 1 and return to Baton Rouge on Tuesday Oct 2, totaling 8.5 hrs and 142 miles. I was then told they would let me know what they had for me for the rest of the week. I did not hear from him. I attempted to call him several times on Thursday to no avail. Finally on Friday Oct 5 he returned my call to and I was told that he was drafting a check and mailing it to me. I have not received payment as of yet and have attempted to contact him by phone and email and have not gotten a call or been contacted as of yet. What legal course can be taken against him to collect moneys owed?
