Alex pretended he was finding a decent home for three pug puppies because his mother died and he could not provide for them. He sent fake pictures of pugs, asked all of the necessary questions, but never worked outside of e-mails. He got in touch with me in a faster method through instant messaging my cellphone from a screen name "samykopy." He wished for $350, via Western Union, to CAMAROON, for a Royal Pets Transportation service. I only paid $150 initially, in agreement with Alex, that the remainder of the money would be paid in a check when the dog arrived at my home. The $150 "activated" the puppy's travel tickets apparently. That night, the "company, " calling from random MAGIC JACK phone numbers with foreign accents, updated me on the "status" of my puppy. At 11:45PM, they called me telling me the puppy was tired as it has never traveled before, and, as advised by their vet on-hand, would be staying with the agency overnight. The next day, the agency refused to ship the puppy without payment of the remainder of the cost. I refused, and received messages from Alex all day negotiating and begging me to send the money ASAP via Western Union. He tried to work from the angle of his grief, and although I did initially fall for it, the realization of this scam now has me out $150 AND my dreams of owning a little pug puppy.
