I though I was calling Lexmark for technical support related to a wireless connection to a Lexmark printer. I started to become concerned after he took control of my computer and did not seem to be working on making the wireless connection. When I specifically asked if he was a Lexmark technician, his reply was that Lexmark did not provide software support, but instead gave it to their company. Then he informed me that someone had access to my computer. I did not wait for him to give me informion on how he would fix? The problem and what it would cost.instead I hung up the phone and pulled the plug on my modem. With a record of the phone call I was able to determine that the company was pctechclinic.ca, phone number 866 467 0611. Hopefully, their only planned scam was to charge me for "removing" a non existant virus and not something more sinister like getting stealing information from my computer.
