My son has a 2003 Falcon XR8 ute. The bolts that connect the tailshaft to the differential sheared off. He rang a local dealer to purchase new bolts (6/8mm dia.) and was advised he had to buy the whole tailshaft assemby (from gearbox to differential) at a cost of $3500. I thought buying an Australian car would keep the cost of parts at least reasonable, but this is rediculous. I would imagine the bolts at most would be $2 each.
