Forest Law Group stated they could help us get our mortgage loan modified within 90 days. That was in February. We had already had the runaround from Bank of American for a year. We applied for a loan modification through the Making Homes Affordable program and were ultimately denied assistance of any kind because my husband finally secured employment—after being out of work for 3 years. Nathaniel Peters and David Sanchez, our first two contacts at FLG, assured us that we would not get the runaround like we did with BofA and MHA, we would be kept informed throughout the process, and our calls would be answered promptly. Because we are asking for a loan restructure that would give us a lower interest rate and therefore lower payments, and not a bail-out involving missed payments or looming foreclosure, it should have been pretty straightforward (our motgage is substantially under water do to the home market decline). What a joke! Things are no farther along than they were in March. We call for an update and find we've been assigned to a new customer service case manager every other week. It's rare to get an actual human on the phone, we're usually sitting through recorded instructions to push this or leave a message with this person now, or that person later and it comes to nothing. Meanwhile, we've received numerous notices from BofA claiming they've received our information and will be reviewing it—another joke. Now we've gotten a letter from BofA saying they can't help us and we should just do a short-sale! That is totally unrelated to anything we ever inquired about. It's apples to oranges, another pile of #$%@. Obviously Forest Law Group has not actually done anything to expedite a loan modification for us, apparently they have not communicated much of anything to the bank, and their 'customer service case managers' are probably several people at a call center set up to deflect inquiries from the people they've taken money from while making empty promises. Keep in mind also that not only did we get fleeced out of $3000, we also turn over some very personal financial information which is probably even a biggger issue. We are close to retirement age and do to the situation our home mortgage is in we may never reach the point where our house will be paid off. We have worked hard to obtain our dream and between the government, BOA and Forest that dream probably will not be realized. The only way to get help it seems like is to be a deadbeat or illegal alien! God help the honest hard working slobs who are the real fiancial backbone of this country. Contact your State attorney Generals office about this scam so they can be taken to task for this unscrupulous business. Also make sure to go to this site frequently and tell freinds, the more hit it gets the further up the web search page it goes.
