Jonathan Tapia contacted me to buy 10 bonus weeks from Marival Resort. I was also contacted by Newport Title Group which would never return any of my follow-up calls nor could I find any information on them.
I started to ask lots of questions and requested the answers in writing in an email. Jonathan would always call and say he needed to explain the answers.
According the contract, the title company would have all the money for the transaction in advance from a renter including the maintenance fees I would owe. However, VES said I needed to mail the maintenance fees to the title company in advance. This made no sense since they already would have them from the renter. It was obvious to me this was a scam as they needed money from me in advance and would not do the transaction in any other way.
The reluctance of VES to put anything in writing was an issue too. I asked for references and Jonathan would not provide them. He also would not tell me specifically how VES got my Marival contract information.
I did not pay any monies to VES. Jonathan eventually became snotty and stopped the transaction because he refused to answer all my questions. I will be forwarding all the information to the Dallas Police Dept.
