They posted an add on Craigslist for a web designer. I sent my resume. They replied, stating that they thought I was the designer they were looking for. They wanted to pay 650 a week for me to design and manage a Wordpress-based website for a racing game that they had developed. Everything seemed mostly normal and they spent time to answer several emails and provided information about the service before stating that they pay through certified check, but would not provide a phone number or business name or any information of that nature that I requested. They wanted my address and name to write on the certified check. They wanted to pay up front, but for me to buy the domain and website address for them. There were no tax forms sent, nothing legal about it. I knew that they were probably going to be sending false checks and fishing for information. They claimed to use certified checks for the first month and then probably would have requested bank information or something of that nature. Pretty elaborate scam and they spent time answering some questions in emails but not the important ones so I could verify their identity and the validity of their organization.
