Ally Bank sat on a "check pay-off" for my 2011 Jeep Compass and tried to get me to make two payments.
After investigating the issue for about 45 days, it took the Division of Consumer Affairs in NJ to track down a copy of the "pay-off" check the dealship sent to Ally on Friday, May 10th.
The dealer wasn't too bright, I think he was being spiteful, and didn't send me a copy of the check for"pay-off". He knew this was a BIG SORE ISSUE! This would have saved him a lot of headaches.
Nevertheless, the limited English speaking out sourced of of country "Customer Service" representatives were complete technology idiots.
They couldn't confirm that the dealship had requested a "pay-off" and a "pay-off check" was being processed.
I couldn't get past these limited English speaking out sourced low paid employees. They just wanted me to make a payment.
After I traded the vehicle, I cancelled "autopayment". So Ally couldn't take another payment past July 11th.
For a big bank, GMAC I think before, what a bunch of shit-heads.
They caused "bad blood" between me and this small time mom & pop dealership.
I'd pass up ALLY for any future car loans; and they can send me a check for $16,500.
