Noticed an unusual transaction on my credit card for $44.95 on August 1 from a company titled More AFY. I have not ordered anything from said company. The number given on the statement for the company is apparently a wireless number and its voice mail is full, no doubt from aggravated individuals who want to know how these people got their credit card numbers and/or what the charge was for if they thought they might have indeed ordered something and forgotten.
Filed a dispute on the issue with my credit card company and have received a conditional credit. I was surprised to read that credit card companies do not have merchants' addresses on file in the FAQs on the credit card's site regarding disputes. One would think there would be some sort of vetting process prior to granting a merchant account.
