Was looking for a dog to replace the one that had died. I perceived an email to be from an ad that I had queried. The owner was giving his dogs away because of a family death. Two hours before set delivery, I was requested to put up $1889 for insurance. I objected saying that this was above the cited $400 delivery/courier charge, and said that it sounded like a criminal scam. They courier maintained that it was an reputable business and that the money would be refunded. Two parties were involved here: owner, courier. They requested the use of Western Union, Douala, Cameroon was cited. It sounded legit 'til the insurance requirement. Then it fell thru when I refused to pay the refundable $1890. Googling revealed the existence of a 'Cameroon' scam. Too late for me. I'm a pensioner and this hurts.
