This is a person I corresponded with on a dating site. He claimed his wife died 8 years ago from breast cancer and that I was the first person he contacted. He removed himself from the dating site after our first correspondence. I was immediately suspicious. He wooed me with lovely letters and told me how much in love with me he is. It sounded corny since we never actually met so I "smelled a rat".
Then he went to Cairo, Egypt with his daughter, Lisa, who is 18. I was still intrigued with him, tho, because he sounded too good to be true. Today he asked me for $5,000.00! He told me that the equipment that he ordered was lost because he didn't insure it. He needed this equipment for the building he designed in Cairo, Egypt. I thought "What a dumb shit" how could you be that stupid to order $45,000 worth of equipment to ship overseas and not insure it. I gave him a resounding NO and deleted all his emails. I knew it had to be a scam because someone who is a construction engineer would know enough to insure valuable parts integral for a project like that.
I did not give this man any money, but I am reporting this attempt. I see that another woman was "snookered". I did not give him any personal information, but I was excited to meet him some day because he sounded so promising. He can be very convincing to women who have had bad luck with men such as the previous woman that complained and myself. I will delete any future emails from this man and will go back on the dating site. They are all not bad like this AH!
