My wife provided her debit card number to this company in April, expecting to receive coupon deals in the mail. This company charged $64 per month against her account for four months. They also signed her up for magazine subscriptions, without her knowledge, and she was billed an additional $28 from PS Buyers Magazine, which appears to be an affiliated company. The CM Shop Club number (888-431-5856) appears to be a fax machine. The PS Buyers Magazine number (877-735-2395) put me in touch with what appeared to be a call center in a foreign country. The spokesperson tried to get me to remain a CM Shop Club member and launched into a sales spiel about the "wonderful discounts" we could receive. I interrupted her with shouts of "cancel it, cancel it now!" She finally agreed to cancel the service but there is no refund as we "have already received four months of the service." She said we should have received information about a login and instructions for the website. Bull! This is an obvious scam operation. My wife learned two hard lessons: 1) Don't give out account number information to unsolicited callers; 2) check the account transaction information from your bank every month carefully to see if there are any unknown/unapproved transactions.
