Called me and left a message that I had a civil complaint against me. I was give a court number and a phone number that I was to call

I was called and left a message that I was cited in a civil suit and restraining order against me. I was given a court appointed number and telephone number to call. I knew it was a scam because you are always served papers if involved in a law suit or restraining order. I called the number anyway to see how they were going to present the scam. They said they would take care of the matter and all I would have to do is pay them via credit card. I told them I knew this was a sam & hung up. They did not call back.
