Homeserve's man came out and told us he could not find a leak. He asked for a service call fee, which was not paid (husband at home did not have.) We had been paying over a $100 for water for 4 mo, so we knew we had a leak,
.
A friend had recommended another co. Morgan Leak Detectors. They came out and found the leak under a sidewalk close to the water meter. They were preparing to repair it. I called Homeserve, advising them of this development. They wanted to send out their worker to do the job. I informed them that the job was already in progress. It cost $800 to fix the leak and a total of 2500 to replace the line as well.
I was told by a phone rep to submit the invoice, to a person's attention. This I did by mail. Not hearing any response, I called in June sometime... I was told that they would have sent out another man to check further. But I had not been told that, only that they couldn't find the leak by their man. It was referred to a manager and I was told to expect a possible 48 hour wait before I would hear back.
Not hearing anything, I have called Homeserve again today, Tue July 24. I was told that the claim was denied. I pressed for a manager and was told it would be referred to him, to expect a 48 hour timeframe again. When I brought up that I had not even been reimbursed premiums, no offer was made. I have even recieved their mail offer to take out the same coverage again. Do they keep records. They are a waste.
