This woman is attempting to sell a 2007 Volvo s40 2.4i for $2000 throughout Craigslist. Her claim is that she is deploying to Afghanistan and needs to sell quick. She even linked to Carfax with the VIN of an actual car. I wonder if the real owner knows she's trying to sell their car? There is some very specific roundabout way she wants people to give her information and money. Such a scam.
I only contacted her initially because I thought the listing read $7000. When I asked her if I could see the car, she said she was out of state. When I told her I had a family member who lived close to her and could give her cash, she made up some excuse about the car being crated to ship.
I was trying to see how creative she would get, but I have now bored of her idiocy and lack of effort in constructing a proper scam. I'm P.O. Ed that I wasted time emailing her when I could have been emailing actual people selling cars they actually owned. I feel for anyone who fell for this.
Anyone sees an ad for a car listed by this "Maj. Ela Clarke"... It's a total scam. Probably overseas, too.
