Consumer Report

I am in Aurora, CO, in the same big boat as everyone here, the U.S.S. Bull*t. I applied for a Security Coordinator position in Syracuse, NY and got the same do it now or else email from "Kandice." It read:

Hello A,

I am Kandice, the hiring staffing assistant. I got your resume today,
and I am excited to let you know that I think you are an awesome candidate.
Your previous job history is a huge plus. If you choose,
I would like to move you forward in the application process now!

The next step is to get your info over to Diane the hiring manager.
To avoid problems, she only views resumes that are viewable online.
To load your resume complete the instructions below:

1. Go to the our web site:

(Copy and paste this link to your address bar if it is not clickable)

2. Next, enter your personal info and upload your resume.

IMPORTANT! Each applicant is required to have a personal application
code in order to fill the application.

Your code is: R19NWjTOQA

Let me know when you finish the instructions.
If you don't contact me by tomorrow I'll assume that you are not interested
in the job, and I'll go on to the next candidate.

A, you're a decent candidate for the job,
but I will move on to the next candidate if I have to.

The site that I was linked to was IQM Property Management. I began to fill out my application when I came to the "we need your credit report" part and to do so with their "online partner." I clicked the link and was sent to PrivacyGuard, who is affiliated with Affinion Group. I called Affinion and they are a legitimate company, but they said they were not familiar with completing credit reports for any specific employer.

As it turns out, IQM is NOT a real company (www.bbb.org). All of the information about their "company" is very generic and any company could find realtor / property management jargon to fix up their site. Even their "news" is a bunch of crap. Although, the articles may hold some truth, none of the articles contain information relative to IQM and their involvement. On top of that, why would I apply for a security job with a property management company?

I'm livid and discouraged once again because I have been nearly scammed by other companies like this here in Denver. I think a federal fraud law should be implemented and a class action lawsuit should be in effect to all the scammers involved. They should be required to pay restitution to all of us here begging for opportunities to not be victims of the "economy" by actually finding our jobs AND paying our unemployment.

"a!"
