A young man knocks on the door and rings the doorbell, he says he's in a "contest", the prize is a trip to Europe. He's talking fast and furious, trying to engage me in conversation.
The bottom line is he was selling subscriptions to magazines. So, being sympathetic, I agreed to buy a two year subscription to Budget Travel for $53.00. Then he gave me a little tag to put on my door to indicate I had already participated and other "contestants" wouldn't bother me.
I Googled the company and could only find consumer complaints and started to worry. Is it a legitimate company?
