I had just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, moved to Tampa and responded to an Advertising Agency ad in the Tampa paper. I showed up for the first interview and was thrilled when on the way home I got another interview for the next day. They told me I was one of only a few chosen for the position.
When I arrived they interviewed us one by one and then sent us home, telling us to return the next day for the entire day. When I showed up, they paired us up with nicely dressed guys who as soon as we got ready to go, put on tennis shoes. Stupidly, I got in their beat up car where they chain smoked until we ended up in a lower class neighborhood about an hour from where we started. When I finally realized that they had us doing door to door sales, I politely asked to be taken back. They bluntly told me no. Luckily, there was another guy with me and we waited together in a bad neighborhood, at a bad intersection in 100 degree weather and being new to town, I had no idea where we were.
The worst part is that they never told us what we would be doing until we got there. What a scam! Stay away!
