I contracted with Live Ops in March. I paid $50 for a background check, and then was told I would have to complete 25 calls. This was paid at the rate of $0.25 a minute.
After completing my certification, I would log in periodically and sign up to take calls. I was only able to do this a few hours a month, because I was employed full time at my regular job.
3 weeks ago, I was laid off from my job, so I started doing more calls on Live Ops. Everyday I would do approximately 4 hours. This morning I logged on for an hour, and was scheduled to take more calls later on today.
I tried to log in around 3pm, only to be told my account had been deactivated, because I was in breach of contract. Their claim is that I tried to "cheat" their company, by not dispositioning the call correctly. They also claimed I was being "selective" about which calls I took, and just hanging up on customers.
SInce their calls are recorded, you would think they would be able to listen and see if this is true. Also, most times, two calls would be sent tou your line at once, so two screens would pop up at the same time. Since you can only do one call at a time, the other screen would get closed out as "no one on the line". I guess they look at this as me hanging up!
I have worked in a call center environment for over 15 years, and have never seen anything like this. No warning, NOTHING! I am so frustrated, because I became dependent on this job since I am a single mom, raising 2 kids with no help! I do not have a car, so working from home was ideal. I feel so blindsided and taken advantage of. I just want them to reinstate me, so I can make an honest living, and feed my kids!
