On April 14 at approximately 7:00 pm Peter Jason Helfrich was at the home owned by his dementia ridden grandmother, Irma Finnegan who is 84 years old and suffers from senility and congestive heart failure. At the time of incident, he was residing there, as he has on and off throught his life. For reasons unclear, Peter became violent with his mother, Emily Jean Helfrich, who is permanently disabled and suffers from chronic alcohol addiction. When his uncle, Donald Finnegan, who is also permanetly disabled and an alchoholic tried to intervene, Peter also assaulted him. He soon left the premises after his frail mother stated she would call the police. Upon arriving at 129 Pease Rd. To assisst Ms. Helfrich and Mr. Finnegan, police discovered a room full of marijuana plants Peter had been growing there. Allegedley he had been bullying his 84 year old gandmother, Irma into letting him grow and distribute marijuana from her home as part of a small time drug enterprise he and his father Raymond J. Helfrich had been involved in for nearly 10 years. When officers arrived where Peter had fled to (his friend Mike Dunn's house at 170 Prospect St., Spencerport, NY), Peter denied everything and refused to cooperate. Peter was soon after taken into custody for assault and drug possession. Like a complete coward, he cried and stated he would kill himself, noting full well he would end up in the psych emergency department instead of county lock up where he couldn't beat on defensless disabled people. He then spent from April 21-May 2 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, NY feigning psychiatric symptoms and exhibiting disrupting behavior to further delay legal proceedings against him. Though drug and assault charges are still pending against him, Peter has gone to extreme measures to divert his involvement in the above incidents and continues to get court proceedings pushed further back. Shortly after he was released from St. Mary's hospital, he filed complaints against the hospital and the doctor who treated him, complaining of OSHA violations and being overmedicated, to name just a few. He is also in the process of trying to sue his mother for over $200,000.00 for filing charges against him, as he states full denial of assaulting her and blames her 'harrassing nature' as a trigger to his alleged mental symptoms. Again, this is a way for Peter to be take tax payer money (his mother is funded by NYS Disability) and not work an honest living so he can continuing dealing dope with his criminal father. Helfrich for only a couple of years in highschool in the early-mid 1990s. I was a partier then, and Pete and his father Raymond were the guys we would go to to buy marijuana. I have since left the area, but come back periodically to visit family and friends. Many mutual friends that Peter and I had back in highschool are too afraid to speak out against him, as many have been threatened, harrassed, and even had dead animals/child pornography left on their doorsteps after confronting him or his father Raymond about harrassment/drug dealing.
