We Dropped off older Troy Built Tiller at Lentine Mowers, older woman at counter wrote down exactly what we wanted to be fixed. Woman said they will call w / costs to repair when they know. Man at counter said easy fix.
Two weeks later, we receive a Call from Lentine Mowers explaining that the costs would be 300.00 to fix only what was intended. However, he suggested additional items to fix. We said no, We didnt even want to spend 300.00. Mike said he would BUTTON IT UP and call us when it is finished.
4/30 we got a Call from Lentine Mowers that tiller is ready to be picked up and costs are 671.00.!! Over double what was quoted! We told them this was NOT agreed upon costs. Asked what happened. Mike explained that it 'took longer than anticipated to put back together'. He would not come down on price. We asked for further explanation. They said this is man hours, it took longer to put it back together.
He told us that he didnt even know if it would work, or for how long. We told him we are sorry it was so hard to put back together. We offered 400.00. Man spoke to owner (woman) we offered 400.00. She would ONLY accept 521.00, I said 400.00 is 100.00 over agreed upon cost.! He said he will take us to small claims court. Lentine has very bad business practices and very poor communication. They used the old BAIT and Switch. Told us costs and then doubled it and now threaten us with court!
