I recieved a text message that states, " You have been selected for a $1,000 Walmart GiftCard, Enter code "FREE" at http://www.walmart.com. Wcgm.Biz/wm / to claim your prize: 161 left!"
I thought it was a scam but my boyfriend wanted to see what the website looked like. We went to the website and it looked legit. We entered our address, phone and email, but when we got sent to the next page and it wanted us to participate in offers, i immediately knew it was a scam. Thankfully, we realized this before we entered any credit information. But sense then I have been recieving 3-4 phishing texts everyday, and phone calls from people claiming to be part of the "dream come true sweapstakes". I thankful that we were smart enough to notice this scam before we entered any information that could be used to steal our identity and clear our bank accounts, but these phishing calls and texts are very annoying, and stressful.
