While attending a Shania Twain concert, I purchased a T-shirt before the event began. I was told they accepted Debit and Credit cards. I gave them my debit card, and they processed the transaction. Since that day, and four days following, there were 5 debits in total out of my checking account. From July 12th thru July 16, there were amounts taken out of my account that were taken with my stolen account number from my card. All the transactions went under the name "Identity Watchdog, Inc." I have no idea who this company is. There were 4 debits out of my account in the amount of $39.75 and one for $23.95. I immediately called my bank and stopped my debit card. I read within THIS site that this is not the first time that "Identity Watchdog, Inc" whoever they may be, have been reported.
I think that the St. Pete Times Forum should really check out who is selling concert merchandise on their property. My debit card account number was stolen when I gave them my card for a t-shirt purchase. The shirts were being sold from a table outside the building.
Who knows who got ahold of my number, but it was very crazy at the time, as there were hundreds of people attending. The table was very crowded with people and once I handed over my debit card, I lost sight of what was happening with it.
Please DO NOT just hand over a debit card without making sure it is safe. (Especially at busy concerts!) My bank has reassured me that the money will be refunded as it was fraud, but I learned the hard way.
I also do not think it's good for Shania Twains' name, knowing that theives work for her!!!
