First contacted by Steve Long at Royal Members, then by Marlene at Ryan and Ross telling me they had a buyer in Mexico that had paid $33,000 for my timeshare. Marlene even sent me documentation of the funds in the account that had all the right information. They first wanted a transfer fee of $3,300 and I got Ryan and Ross to put in $1,300 and Royal Members to put in $600 - so we paid $1,400.
Then a week before it was to be completed, they came back with another transfer fee that they said was something the Mexican government just added - another $5,280 fee. This time I got Ryan and Ross to put in $3,840 and we paid $1,440 - so a total of $2,840.
We had instructions that they would send via FedX the papaerwork on a Monday - it never happened. When I called, they told me that Marlene was out ill — the whole week - so now it's a week later.
When I started calling the week later, the phone would not let me get to them, I kept hitting the "0" key and it would finally go thru and Melody would answer and put me on hold for Marlene and it would disconnect.
Then I started trying to call Steve and got the same thing with the phone not letting me call thru. I did the "0" there and got someone on the phone and told her a different name - she did put me thru to Steve and I told him that I had not been paid - he said he would call Marlene at Ryan and Ross right away and call me back... It never happened.
I believe what they did was put my phone number in their system to not answer when I called thru.
I am going to our District Attorney in Minnesota - so wish me luck!
This is a total scam, but very well played out.
What I don't understand is that they really do a lot for not much money, but I guess they have hundreds a day that they are working with, so it makes it worth it.
It also is interesting that two companies are in this together and ruining their reputation for any work they have done that is legal.
