Consumer Report

I applied for a position as a medical assistant for Life Line Screening off of a Craig's List ad. I went to the website for Life Line Screening and it appeared to be a legitimate site, so I applied for the position. I sent in a cover letter & resume and received a response back that same day. The email, sent from Rachel Harris, [email protected], stated that I was one of 5 people chosen to be interviewed and she sent a link for me to do a financial verification check. I was told that after I completed this, I could set up a time for an interview. When I went into the link, I kept coming up with the Facebook home page. When I was finally able to access the site, it stated that it might be an unsafe site. I did not go any further with this link, but did email Rachel and told her that this happened. I have received no response back from her or anyone else from that organization. I then contacted Life Line Screening and gave them the information that [email protected] may be using their name fraudulently. The person I spoke with was not aware of any job posting on Craig's List and the position was not listed under their open positions. Even though I gave pacsunrealty no identifying financial info, they still have my email address and phone number as it was posted on the resume I sent in. I am hoping I will not have further repercussions from this honest attempt on my part to get a job. I would definitely stay away from this site.
