My wife and I were solicited thru US Mail to attend a presentation in Pensacola at the Ashton Inn.in exchange we would receive a free cruise. We went. Heard from Bill Yearly about many cruises and trips we could take and were given exact amount they would cause. Egypt was listed as flights for two and a cruise down the Nile for $1,000. When we joined and tried to book this trip it was $11,000.00. I called Jody Cate, who signed us up and explained everything to us and told her we wanted to cancel and had been scammed she also gave me the name and number of a Mr. Arnuflo, Exec. V.P. Of the company. My Blue Lagoon is another trade name. They were all very evasive.
In the fine print of the contract it is written that one has 3 days within which to cancel membership and just lose $300, but you cannot cancel until you get your membership card. After raising hell with Jody Cate, the card arrived on the fourth day. I spoke with everyone I could. I told Mr. Arnuflo that if I did not have my money back by noon on Wednesday that I was filing suit in Orlando. He said he couldn'e act that quickly and asked for the remainder of the week, assuring me they wanted alal members to be happy with the club. I have not been able to get him to take my calls since.
I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Services Div.in Fl after being referred there by the Attorney General. I am continuing my fight against these scam artists and will not quit.
Arnuflo and others were thrown out of Texas by th AG.
