I rented a car at the McCarran Aiport in Las Vegas based on the advertised rate of $24 per day. When asked about insurance, I declined stating my company was self-insured and didn't allow it. Agent said ok. Rather than take the LDW and the insurance off, she took off only the insurance and then proceeded to have me mark on the keypad. I had waited for 45 minutes and the line was long, so both the agent and I were rushing. When I saw the printout, I saw a total of $280 for three days and asked why it would be so much given I'd declined coverage and the rate of $24/day. She said that was just an estimate and the true total would be adjusted to my rate when I brought the car back. I didn't notice in extremely small writing that she left on the LDW. I understand that I am partly to blame for the oversight, but I also believe that the agent and Dollar are at fault given the direct questions I asked and the responses I received.
