Eplacement struts that sears auto dept said I needed

So I allowed them to do it. Then my car started to make noise and everytime I went over a bump I had a noise that sounded like the strut was coming up through my fender so I took it back today and was told I needed a sway bar. The employee did not tell me that needed to be replaced nor did he show me that is it needed to be replaced and I call the auto manager and he told me that on their notes it said something about it but the employee did not tell me and I am not arguing with any manager to tell me otherwise he told me himself that he wasnt in the store that day, those notes should have transfer on to my receipts I was given and my thoughts are if they knew they needed to be replaced and I payed 479.87 why was I not told. Did I have to buy new struts if it was the sway bar tha iwas the problem? Unfortunately I didnt ask for my parts back to see if that was the problem and they are gone from the store anyway. Why would I put that kind of money in my car without having it told me about the sway bar it dont make sense to me to have pay that kind of money just to be told that there was more and I think the employee should know what he is doing and cover all the bases. It is my money that helps keep Sears going for the time being and I am very unhappy and am wondering if I paid for something that I didnt need.
