Sean O'Reilly and his crew of liars are in the business of ripping people off; customers, staff and everyone else who gets taken in by their BS. One of my "Team Leaders" actually said "If you don't want to lie, maybe this isn't the job for you." HA! That says it all, but I will elaborate. First, DO NOT BUY A KIRBY! It is a cumbersome, silly machine that is just a trumped-up old fashioned Vacuum Cleaner. It is heavy, complicated, and there is absolutely NO easy way to fix, replace or repair anything on it.
If something goes wrong, however rarely, you are immediately subjected to the same tactics they used to get into your door.in other words, you will be spending more money after spending A LOT already. The Kirby is not worth $2795, the price Sean is selling it for, it's worth $500. That's what he pays for it. The 0% interest on the payment plan is a lie as well, it is closer to 20% when all is said and done. Oh, and your old vacuum that we will "donate" for you? Sean sells them back to a shop for whatever he can get.
The real big scam comes if you decide to work for Sean O'Reilly's SJ Systems, as I did. The ad said $2000 a week and I thought "Yay". When I went for the interview, I saw Kirby plaques on the wall and thought "Uh-oh". But I decided to ask lots of questions and see how it went. The girl who interviewed me was named Rachel. She took a while to get to the fact that SJ Systems sold Kirbys. When she finally did, I began asking her how it worked. She said that the $2000 a month was for 60 appointments a month, starting the day we were hired (3 days of unpaid training later).
In her next breath she said "But don't worry about that, once you have been here a week you will be making more than that". Blatant lie. Rachel continued to say that the 60 appointments were "no problem" because they were set up for me. I thought this sounded a little strange so I asked what she meant. Rachel told me that there were "canvassers" who would set up all our appointments for us. We talked a bit more, and when I left she told me I should call back the next morning to see if I got the job.
When I did, she said they liked me, asked me some stupid questions about being willing to work hard, and then wanted to know if I had any questions. I said "So, you will train me, set up my appointments and get me to them, and for demonstrating the Kirby and being friendly you will pay me 2000 dollars a month?" She paused, which didn't seem that important at the time, and said "Yes." Blatant Lie. They had me out knocking on doors for 30 hours in three days, and the only demonstrations I had were ones I got myself. Sean O'Reilly has a team of people with deplorable morals; Chris, Josh, Martin, Rachel, Nick and Angelica to name a few.
All of them said "Don't worry" when I asked about the 60 appointments. All of them said "Yes" when I asked if I was able to get my 60 would I get my commission on top of that. Lies, Scams and Thieves. I knocked my own doors, and NO ONE makes 60 demos a month. Ever. Also, If I sold a Kirby the commission I earned would be TAKEN OUT of my 2000 monthly. So was the most I could make unless something crazy good happened. The Kirby "Home Cleaning System" is not something you need and defiantly not worth 2800 dollars. Trust me, I spent three days in Kirby class learning all about it and I wouldn't want to be given one.
Sean O'Reilly and SJ Systems is looking to take advantage of you, especially if you work for him. He will feed you lines about "teaching you the business" and how you can "learn to make money" if you listen to him. Don't. He will send you out there with a douche and you will make nothing for a lot of work. Sean O'Reilly sends his team all over the Bay Area and sometimes Santa Cruz. He is an Irishman with bug-eyes and a slimy demeanor. He has been in trouble for being a scammer before, Google "Sean O'Reilly ABC 7". And Good Luck to all those poor souls still working at SJ Systems. Don't you yell "I will be a force for good!" before you go out for the day? That may be the biggest lie of all.
