Nuri sold me a tin of caviar, urging me to buy the 250 gram tin, which was very expensive. I told the merchant I was concerned I would not be allowed to bring iit into the US. He warranted it was. Guaranteed me I would have no problem at all.
Well I did.
At US customs in LAX when I answered yes to the question if I had caviar, I was forced to abondon the caviar or be arrested and/or fined as it was from an endangered species and I was only allowed to bring in 125 grams. More than that would have required the merchant to give me a permit.
I have tried to get the money back from the merchant and through my tour company in Turkey, Neon Tours, but they are giving me the runaround. I was brought to the merchant by my guide from Neon Tours so I feel they are responsible as well. I believe they have deals with all the merchants and factories they bring tour groups to and receive a big kick-back.
