Had an antique bedroom set for sale and several interested parties. One however insisted he would buy the set and went about emailing his intent to send a check and set up a mover to take the items. I insisted that I would prefer to conduct this by person or at least have him call me on the phone to coordinate this transaction. He refused to call saying that he was too busy and I dismissed that as his last overture. Today, I receive a check for the sum of $2,893.00 via Fedex. It was sent by a party unfamiliar to me and found out that it was the same individual who said they were interested. The bedroom set was for only$600 and instructions provided said in short to go to Western Union and set up an account as I understood it and from there the overage would be sent back minus moving fees and $50 for my troubles. I did some further investigating as the phone no. Listed was a Physical Therapy business and it was not used for over two years and by nobody at this business. Long story short I reported this to my local police and am going to send the check back via Fedex at the address given. If you need anything from me that might help hinder this type of fraud in the future please don't hesitate to cotact me. I was fortunate in so much as I had no monetary loss over this.
