I just moved into a new apartment in September. When I moved in, I was told that some utilities would be paid, by me, to Heartland Regional Power Co. The utilities included in the bill would be water, sewer, trash, pest control, and common electric which runs the lights on the inside and outside of my building. I was also told that they can now bill us for our standard cable and internet bundles from Time Warner, at a discounted rate. When I received my 1st Heartland bill, it was $95! It was only for 15 days of use, and it included a one-time $19.99 activation fee. When I received my 2nd bill, it was for $150!! When I looked over my bill, I was being charged $42 for water, sewer and trash, for only 1 month! Then there was a $8.99 administrative fee! When I called Heartland, they said that we are charged the administrative fee every month! The customer service rep said that it is to cover the cost of billing me every month! When I tried to make an account online to pay my bill, they charge you to pay it online, no matter what method you use! My monthly fee for the "discounted" basic cable and internet was $84.99! I know that is way more than I have ever paid through Time Warner. When I called Time Warner, they said they can definitely get me a cheaper rate for the services I currently receive., I just have to get Heartland to release me from their cable/internet bundle. I am just dumbfounded by this company! They are trying to get every dime and nickle out of customers, and I am fed up with it!
