I received a text message: You have just won a $1000 Walmart Gift Card! To claim go to http://prize-patrol. Ws/walmart and enter GIVE
I was immediately suspicious. I searched the reverse directory white pages and found out that the phone number sending the text [ (571) 232-1398] is a cell phone in Virginia (Alexandria, Fairfax), Washington metro area, Fairfax County. I then Googled the internet address and found several sites with similar information, including this one; indicating that, indeed, it is a scam. I did not go to the web site indicated and therefore I have lost no money. Thank you to everyone else who reported on this scam before me!
