I am in a desperate search to find a place to live and called a number from a Craigslist ad. I spoke with a woman named Alyssa who said that she works with home owners who want someone to take over their mortgage due to lack of finances, so that there is no negative information reported on their credit. She said that properties are move in ready, all I had to do was sent $350 in order to get the property information and the $350 would be applied to my security deposit. She answered the phone very promptly each time I called back to get more details or when I was at CVS getting a Greendot card to make the payment. Once I sent the money, she answered the phone once stating that the Property representative would call me with a list of properties. After an hour, I woman with a thick Indian accent asked for all of my preferences and said she would send a list of properties. I waited another hour and she sent a list of properties that are each and every classified publication. They were not home owners, yet a list of random apartments, all but one no where near my location. I tried to call Alyssa back many many times but she has yet to answer my calls. I want to know how I can report these people and get my money back as I am a single mother on the verge of being homeless and out $350.
