I am a doctor, and I own a book on trauma management, but am away from home, and needed to reference the book. Mediacrawler advertised the ability to download a PDF version. Fine, I paid them $1.99 for a "trial". Then, five days later, I get a notice from Avangate that they have debited my account for the "full version" for $69.95. However, even after I paid the $1.99, all of a sudden the trauma book that I wanted wasn't in the index for web crawler anymore. A total FRAUD, not to mention I knew nothing of their plan to extract another $69.95 from my VISA. These people are garden variety criminals.
