They send us a key for a chance to win a kitchen. We called the number and we were asked what was the household income. I re-asked what and they wanted everyone income in the household. They told us we would have to come to a meeting and bring the key with us. Now we were looking into maybe getting a king size bed. The rep. Was very convincing that we could saved a lot of money by getting items for our home for so far less than we could have brand names of almost any items for the home. We were shown all sort of items as prices so low. Well we had to meet with the rep. And he told us that we could get savings on the king sized bed. We were bombarded with reps saying We needed to get in now so we could start saving from regular price. I asked about the 30 days to think about it and he said it would be at full price and this way I had the option anyhow while saving money. They had their own financing right there and we could use our card at any time the store was open. We put down around to 700 dollars. And payments were a few cents less than 130 dollars for three years. They used our income which was on the poverty side if not below, but it didn't matter because of the savings they were offering for things we would buy otherwise at a reduce rate. We are both on SS and have been paying for this company until I can't buy groceries because of our health costs and told them we could no longer pay. They told me that I signed a contract and since we did we had to pay. NOTE: within the week of visiting the actual store we used our card once to check on the cost of a king size bed and were shocked at the cost. We inquired about the knife set and was told that was a sample and our catelog would have it. I wanted to talk to the office about my payments and was then told that the company had sent it to another finance co with the same payment as I was told.
He told me the thirty days would have to be taken up with the finance company because they were not responsible for anything else. We left haven't been back since. I had a time finding out how to contact the provided of the bill and took me until we could no longer pay for it to finally locate them. Then I read that this was a scam and I was upset. Only thing they have changed is the main two people, husband and wife or other would be considered no other person in the household. We have medical problems and I have had major depression and panic attacks along with my husband age and diabetes. I feel that they falsified everything and would like my money back since most of it was my daughter who helped us. She is having problems with her income helping us. She is a Vet. And has been to Afghanstan for a year right before we signed the paper and used some of her money for the down payment. She has since can't pay all of her bills and help us too. I have told everyone that I know about this false company. The dates are wrong cause I don't remember the exact date. I was given just a paper stating how much was the down payment and how much payments were. We are now in 125% under the poverty rate but not low enough to get any help from the government. We don[t own a home but live with our daughter. I hope this helps others before they are led to believe its a real good deal of getting items almost at cost.
