Employee Termination Procedures

My son in law injured his back, he filed for workmans comp and the following day they put him on suspension for a fabricated incident that supposedly happened a week earlier. They claimed that my son in law swiped a pole in the warehouse with a forklift and failed to report it. There are cameras in every part of this warehouse except for the location of the said incident. First they claimed that there was one witness that reported it. After being suspended without pay for a week and a half, and them avoiding his calls, they finaly gave him an official termination claming then that there were four employees including a supervisor that witnessed it. Remember this supposedly happened a week prior to his back injury. Why did it take them a week and a half to bring this to the table? Why did the so called supervisor not take immediate action if he so witnessed this incident?

This Grainger location had not had a workmans comp claim in over a year and a half and the employee who made the claim then also was terminated in the same like manner. Coincidence, I think not. As stated in many other complaints from others, you will not make retirement from this company unless you are related to upper management. Companies like this that claim they stand behind their employees yet continue to ruin the lives of dedicated employees by terminating them over fabricated circumstances in order to avoid having to pay their pensions and benefits. This is corrupt and illegal, yet the lawyers do not pursue any litigation.
