I was injured while working for HomeDepot. Before i could get surgery, my health insurance was canceled. My Dr would not release me to return to work, so I was terminated while out on Short term Disability. I hired a lawyer and went to mediation in 2008. Sedwick was HomeDepots Insurance for Workmans comp at the time.in Dec they settled, but in Jan. 2009 they left HomeDepot without notifing my lawyer or me. The case was turned over to Liberty Mutual/Helmsman Management Services. Their lawyer and mine went to a Status Conference on Jan. 5th 2010 and now it's set for trial. Because of them dragging their feet, my health has gotten worse, mentally and physically. The entire injury is documented. HomeDepot states they Value their employees. Yet you get hurt, they throw you to the dogs. What good is filing for workmans comp when it works against you. My lawyer seems to hit a wall because Liberty Mutual will not settle, let alone answer his calls. They can check their records and know this is true. I have been in touch with the Commisioner of Workmans Comp in Tallahassee Florida who want to start an investigation. If anyone knows how this can get settled ASAP, please let me know. I am now posting this complaint on the internet to let others know how this company treats your injury.
