I filed my 2011 income taxes via on line with Turbo Tax. They advertise a fast and convenient way to obtain your tax return refund is on their Visa card and stated that by doing this you would have a chance at doubling your refund in their weekly drawings. They advertise that you would receive your Visa card within 7 to 10 days. I filed on 1/23 and selected the Turbo Tax Visa card. My refund was issued on 2/1, but I can not get my Visa Card from Turbo Tax to obtain my refund. Their only contact number is 866-543-9160 and you have to prompt your way to the proper department. Your normal wait to speak to a human being is 25 minutes or longer. There is no assistance through the website when you do not get your Visa card timely. They lie to you when you do get some one by telephone. When I did not receive my card by 2/4, I ordered a replacement card. Originally, they were going to charge me the express mailing fees of $19.95 for 3 business day delivery but, I got that waived. I was told I could get my tracking number today, but was on hold for 25 minutes and then disconnnected. I was continuously disconnected each time I called back and prompted the call to the department I was trying to reach. I even went through tecnhical support after 3 hours of being disconnected from every call and technical support for Turbo Tax experienced the same problem. I finally got through after 5 hours, and was told that they could not give me a tracking number with Fedex for my replacement card.
TurboTax misrepresented their Visa card as a convenient and fast way to obtain your tax refund. They have very poor customer service since you cannot get through on their phone nor have an alternative to file a complaint on their website. Tax payers need to be alerted that they should not select the Turbo Tax Visa card, because you do not get your refund, there is no customer service to expedite your complaint and you have little recourse in getting your tax return money or a way to complain.
