Marcus Moore Ashlyn Motors
Consumer Report

Car was advertised as not being in an accident, but upon arrival MR. Moore stated that he was uncertain if in accident, but airbags popped—he explained this could happen as a matter of course—and the car made noises when driven thirty feet in parking lot. HE had a carfax of twenty days prior which did not list any damage to the vehicle. Buyer told had to get someone to look at the car, but a deposit of 1700.00 was placed and title signed with the understanding that if repair costs were over 500.00 after being looked at the vehicle would not be taken. With this understanding, the car dealer agreed to leave the car on the lot until it was looked at, but title was signed.
After talking to various mechanics—Sears and Airbag installers, the cost for repairs would exceed the cost of the car, so the dealer was contacted, title returned, and agreement made that the car was unsuitable the following day. Car and title were in dealer's hands. Two weeks later the dealer sent me a padded bill for 472.00 for services he did not render. A complaint was made, and via the telephone the dealer agreed to only the cost of the title, 20.00.
Sixty days later, 1/30 the dealer sought court remediation, falsifying information, padding bill, and salvaged vehicle not listed in ad as such.
