I purchased sale books that did not count towards my purchase obligation, so I specifically sent an email asking if the Nora Roberts book packs for over $10. Counted towards my purchase obligations. I received the vague stock reply listed below rather than an upfront answer to my specific question about the book packs.
The Nora Roberts pack I purchased was $19.99 for 2 books (each book is a trilogy - but is it only 2 hard cover books), so even per book is over $9.99 by. 5 cents per book and the details and description of the books/pack do not indicate anything that indicates it would not apply to my obligation - only members can purchase this set. Yet, after purchasing, they are saying I still have 1 more purchase obligation! This is ridiculus, even when you specifically take the time to ask, they still screw you over!!!

Non-book items such as music, videos and other merchandise products do
not count toward the purchase agreement. Featured Selections and
club-priced selections of at least $9.99 do count; however, special sale
books may not count, so please refer to each specific sale offer.
Here is some other helpful information to keep in mind when keeping
track of your purchases that count toward your commitment.
Any qualifying selection that you return will reduce the number of
accumulated purchases.
Your Reply Form reflects the number of books purchased at the time the
form was printed. Since the card is printed well in advance of your
receiving it, any recent purchases or returns are not reflected.
