Consumer Report

My husband and I are trying to sell his motorcycle. All my friends kept telling me to post it to Craigslist where they have sold and purchased items. Well, the buyer stated he is in the U.S. Navy and has been in contact with me. He sent the payment amount of $8000 to PayPal to cover the $7000 for the bike and $1000 for the pick up agent and W. Union Fee. However, PayPal told me that per their policy I could not see any of that money until I sent the Western Union. (Note: They were/are holding the money for the Western Union). So, I was told that once I paid the W. Union (with my own money), I would get the $8000. I see it in PayPal, but not in my account. Also, Paypal said that they would be responsible for any loss. Now, it has been two days, they have informed me that things were good, the receiver needed to be changed then 12 hours to process new change, there was a technical difficulty to be solved in 4-5 hours, things were good again, then another technical difficulty taking 4-5 hours to fix, and now says the buyer has complained about an excessive $500, so now Paypal wants me to do another $500 which I do not have, they took all my money already, and then they would credit me $8500 to cover bike and both W. Unions. They cannot reverse the buyer's money and have policies to protect the buyer and seller. Sound's like they are only protecting themselves. They have not protected me at all... Do not send/accept money through PayPal or send Western Union money if you are the seller. That is soooo stupid. Starting to sound like fraud to me...
